The 2.5.0 version of the player brings a lot of stability improvements for Safari on iOS.
We also made an improvement with regards to switching tabs. When a viewer is watching a stream muted or with volume 0 and they switch tab, they are no longer interacting with the content in any way. Browsers like chrome even stop the progression of your media. We now pause the player when the viewer switches tab and restart playback at the live point when the viewer returns. Of course this only happens when there is no audio coming from the video element.
On top of that some issues were fixed:
- Sometimes the initial playing event would not be dispatched.
- The headers provider API was not applied to the manifest GET.
- Zapping in quick succession would take a long time.
